Additional Info
Prep/restore included matrix or rock removal and fracture filling. No restoration.
Bone preservation over time was such that gypsum invaded the bone layers and degraded the surface texture. While some preparators will grind down to a smooth surface, to us that looks unrealistic and there can be significant bone loss. Instead, the surface was preserved/prepared as best we could, leaving a rugose texture. If you choose to grind the bone to make it smooth, a hand-held grinder/sander would work.
