Sauropod Tooth Comparison. The shape of Sauropod teeth is part of their signature. While the teeth shown in the image (left) are not to-size, you can see that Junior's teeth are not as peg-like as Diplodocus and not spoon-shaped like Camarasaurus.
Junior's teeth are actually more almond-shaped than the teeth of an adult Apatosaurus. Some scientists are studying whether tooth morphology changes as a young dinosaur matures.
Further research on Junior Apatosaurus will reveal whether this specimen is Apatosaurus - or a new species.
